The topic of making sure our loved know they're loved has been filling my heart and mind lately due to some recent events in my life. We've all heard many times before how important it is to show our love and appreciation to our people, but it's too easy to fall into the routines of life and take the ones who enrich our lives for granted. It's a reminder we probably can't hear too much since it's so important.
So here's your most recent reminder.Life is unpredictable; show your love!
When we effectively show love, there's no question it nourishes our relationships and helps keep them healthy and thriving. To be sure we're clearly communicating that love it's important to express it in a way that's meaningful to the recipient. You've probably heard of Dr. Gary Chapman's book The Five Love Languages. You can find it a number of places, including HERE, or visit the website HERE.
Here's a list of the languages. You can find a test to determine yours on the website or in the book.
1. Gifts/Tokens of affection
2. Quality Time Together
3. Physical Touch
4. Words of Affirmation
5. Acts of Service
I have a friend whose husband jokingly tells her, "I told you I loved you when we got married; if that changes, I'll let you know." Funny, yes.
But, obviously, no.
Let's love on our loved ones. Today. Tomorrow. And often.
