Perception is everything: What you believe shapes your reality.

In the vast expanse of human experience, few concepts hold as much significance and mystery as faith. It is a force that transcends the tangible, leading us into the realm of the unseen and the unknown. Like the wind we feel but cannot see, faith can elude our senses yet leave an indelible mark on our lives.

Consider the poignant tale of the dwarfs in C.S. Lewis's masterpiece, "The Last Battle." These characters found themselves in a wondrous place of beauty and truth, yet their refusal to believe in the reality before them rendered them blind to its splendor. Their skepticism and cynicism became a barrier to experiencing the fullness of their surroundings, highlighting a profound truth about faith: our beliefs shape our reality.

Faith isn't merely a passive acceptance of the status quo; it is an active choice to see beyond the surface, to embrace the possibilities that lie beyond our immediate perception.

As the age-old adage goes, "Ask and ye shall receive. Seek, and ye shall find. Knock, and it shall be opened unto you." Our journey of faith begins with the questions we dare to ask, the truths we earnestly seek, and the doors we courageously knock upon.

THIS podcast episode discusses effective tools for asking, seeking, and knocking. What tools do you use?

But faith is more than just a philosophical inquiry or a mental exercise; it is a seed that must be planted, nurtured, and tended to with care. Like a gardener cultivating a garden, we must cultivate our faith with intentionality and purpose. Only through patient nurturing and diligent care can we experience the blossoming of belief and the fruition of our spiritual journey.

If we are simply happy that we have a seed but do nothing with it, it can never grow and enrich us. If we plant that seed but don't tend it, it will never bear fruit. Only by careful placement, watering, weeding, fertilizing, and protecting it from pests will we ultimately enjoy all that seed has to offer.

In the tapestry of life, faith is the thread that binds us to the divine, the beacon that guides us through the darkest nights. It is the unwavering confidence that there is a higher purpose to our existence, a deeper meaning to our struggles, and a greater love that surrounds us.

Faith is a principle of action. It is a choice, one that determines our experience of life. What do you choose to see?
