The Simplest, Most Under-Utilized Thing You're Already Doing

We've talked about breathing and stress HERE and about breathing and metabolism HERE, and if you've ever worked with me personally, we've definitely talked about breathing there. So why can't I shut up about this?




Because it's the cheapest, easiest, most accessible, under-utilized, crazy-effective tool we have for things we talk about around here. It plays an integral part in metabolism, in stress relief, and much more. And it's time for a reminder.


You do it all day, every day anyway, so why not use it to your best advantage? Yes, keeping you alive is a great advantage already, but it can and does do more than that.


I'm bringing in a couple of experts to back me up today.


In this first TEDx talk, you get to practice three types of breathing Water, Whiskey, and Coffee breathing to balance your nervous system, to slow heart rate, blood pressure and activate your parasympathetic nervous system, and to create energy and activate your sympathetic nervous system, respectively. It's twelve minutes of practical knowledge and experience.



This next TEDx talk is eighteen minutes dedicated to your inner science nerd. It breaks down exactly how breathing and metabolism are connected. So if you're like me and have wondered where weight goes when we lose it, this video is for you.
