When you hear the word nourishment, what comes to mind?
For many, it's food—the kind that fuels our bodies and gives us energy. Or maybe it’s movement, exercise, or fitness goals. But true nourishment goes so much deeper than what’s on our plate or how much we move.
It’s about what fills our minds, hearts, and spirits—not just our stomachs.
Beyond Food and Fitness: A Deeper Look at Nourishment
Our culture has trained us to think about health in terms of what we eat and how we exercise. But nourishment isn’t just about consumption—it’s about what sustains us.
For far too many years, I tried all the "right" diets, did all the different workouts, and tried to fit my body and myself into what was culturally acceptable. It was discouraging and exhausting.
Then I learned what true nourishment actually looks like.
👉 Spiritual Nourishment: A strong, life-giving connection with God, rooted in faith, trust, and grace. It’s the deep peace that comes from knowing who you are and whose you are—beyond any number on a scale or achievement on a list.
👉 Emotional Nourishment: A mindset of self-compassion, resilience, and grace. It’s about how we speak to ourselves, how we process our emotions, and whether we allow space for both joy and struggle without shame.
👉 Relational Nourishment: The people and communities that fill us up instead of drain us. True nourishment includes healthy relationships—with others, with ourselves, and with our Creator.
When we focus only on food and fitness, we miss the bigger picture. Our souls need nourishment just as much as our bodies do.
Are You Spiritually, Emotionally, and Relationally Undernourished?
If you’ve ever:
🔹 Followed all the “right” health advice but still felt empty inside
🔹 Pushed yourself harder but never felt like it was enough
🔹 Struggled with guilt, shame, or self-judgment around food or your body
🔹 Felt disconnected from your purpose, faith, or true joy
Then you may be undernourished in ways that have nothing to do with food.
You can find nourishment HERE.
How Do We Truly Nourish Ourselves?
Nourishment is not about striving, restricting, or hustling harder. It’s about receiving.
✔️ Receiving grace—letting go of perfectionism and embracing the reality that you are already enough
✔️ Receiving truth—rejecting comparison, shame, and the lies of what your life "should" look like.
✔️ Receiving joy—allowing yourself to experience the fullness of life without constantly trying to “fix” yourself
